Its funny that you mentioned "parts that fit" because I had a hell of a time Identifying the thing. I started with the stamp in the rear right of the engine, and the stamp was the same for 283's and 327's. I looked for the date and when I found what I thought was the date, it said 1982. Well, I I knew that was wrong because they didnt make either one of those engines in 1982 so I figured that the stamp that I was looking at, wasnt the date stamp. The head stamps ( according to Mortech ) went to 305's or 350's. So than i was confused. I stripped the engine to get to the crank and finally found that the one in it , only went to the 283 and not both, 283 and 327. So now, the heads that fit the 283, also fit either the 305's or 350's. I also looked a little more closely at the date stamp and rubbed a little more of the grease stuck in the letters and found that it was: A1962... Thank God the mystery was finally over.
