Have
you ever seen the look on an 18 year old parts counter guy (or
girl) when you say you want a set of brake shoes for front drum brakes
for a 196? car?
Have
you ever heard the phrase "sorry, our computer doesn't go back that
far!"
Have
you ever changed a set of drum brakes vs. a set of disc?
Do you
have any clue what it takes to stop a big block car that originally was
designed for a small V8 or 6 banger? (your engine may vary)
Did
you know there were drastic improvements over the years to front end geometry
and how flat your tires stay on the road when
cornering?
I'd
say do the tall spindle upgrade with newer parts. Makes thing easier to find,
easier to install, better cornering, AND better stopping...especially when
using huge 12 inch rotors.
