I used Meguiar's Plastx Plastic cleaner and polish  on my "66 heater plastic and it looks like new. Lots of hand rubbing but I thought it was worth it.
Also try soaking the plastic overnight first using a dish washing soap.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Freshening up heater boxes question

Hi all,

I was wondering if any of you have used the SEM Landau black (which I hear is the thing to use on floor consoles) on the under dash heater boxes and vents. All of the under dash plastic in my 66 w/AC is incredibly gnarly and a good washing with soap and water didn't make it look as good as I was hoping. I know that those pieces came from the factory with a completely different shade (& obviously texture) of black than the consoles, but I hadn't heard or read on TC of anyone else using the SEM products on those parts.

As always any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks!
