i've had "dealings" with some people on ebay that once they recieved payment that was it, end of transaction.
on the other hand, i've had others send me the item even before i'd sent payment. ( i sent them a warning email about eventually getting burnt )
i've gotten items that were better than i'd have ever imagined for the price, and also gotten items that were one step above scrap. even after corresponding often and asking plenty of the right questions i've gotten high priced sCRAP.
over all i like doing buisness on ebay, but like anywhere, there are scam artists
just my 2 cents

I wrote him before I placed a bid and asked him specific questions as to the condition of the hub caps. That's why I bid on them.I also wrote the seller twice after I had received the caps and he won't answer.

Rich,

There are people on ebay that are not exactly "knowledgable" about the items they are selling.  Such as the frequent use of the acronym NOS when describing the condition of the part(s).  Have seen the term used to describe absolute junk !  Having said that, you as the buyer must ask questions prior to bidding.  Always assume the condition of the part is less than the picture shows, or worse than the seller is describing.  Sorry that you were soured by your very first transaction.  Myself, I have been both a seller and a buyer on ebay since about 1996, and have not had a souring experience...yet.

Try contacting the seller and ebay.  Let the seller know that you are dissatisfied, items not as described, and that you will be contacting ebay to resolve this.  Maybe he will get the hint.  Good Luck. :)

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Dog dish caps

I just bid a set of '66 full wheel hub caps and won. They were suppose to be NOS. They weren't. They had dings all over like they had been on the car for years. It's the first time I ever bid on anything on ebay and it soured me. The guy has very good feed back. Not one negative. That is until I send my feed back in. I tried to email him but he won't answer. The dog dish caps look great but so did the one's I bid on.
