One thing with hydraulics, Do a couple of
times but the air in the system can mix with the fluid so you might have to let
it settle out some also.

It basically
bleeds itself.Put hydraulic fluid into the pump,raise the top,up and down ,see
if the pump needs topping up again and repeat until the top goes up and down
like a hot dam.I have had to do it to two Chevelles so far and it worked
great.
