John, You can sometimes hear a slight buzz from the MSD box at idle, but the rest of the time the exhaust overpowers any sound from the MSD.  The heat was not an issue. I had concerns initially about the unit getting too warm under the seat and checked it frequently. It got only slightly warmer than the rest of the interior. No problems in three years.
