On the subject of the car show dolls, the best use I have seen for one was at a local show where a bull dog lifted has leg on one and a few minutes later someone's poddle decided that doll needed a little love.(if you know what I mean) If it had only been caught on film.

Put a Tiger in your Tank, I think it was in the early 70's or  possibly the late 60's.  Still have one and still enjoy hanging it out of  my gas door.  I like it better than those silly dolls that are hiding the  faces up against the side of the cars.  My 2 cents worth  Bob 71  Elky
