While this article is pretty good I would not assume that just running a new wire from the bulkhead connector to distributor gets the job done. You need to find out what the wire gauge is from ignition switch to bulkhead connector. If not you may be trying to supply your nice new 12ga. wire with a 20ga. wire. (as in 1964 (&65?) Chevelle - check the wiring diagram!) Since the main feed in is a 12 ga wire a good alternative is to pick a tap on the fuse block that comes on with ignition and use that to bypass original wire using the grommet located near bulkhead connector. In my opinion at least half the wiring in an early Chevelle should have been a size heavier. Pete Geurds Douglassville, PA
