Hello,  I just got back from the tri-Chevy swap in Peotone, Il today and met a vender that converts standard AM radios to AM-FM with inputs for either xm or CD player without disturbing any stock appearance of the radio.  He offers both 2 and 4 channel set ups.  When you turn on the radio it is automatically on FM.  To get AM you turn it of and back on.  RCA plugs on the back for inputs.  The radio push buttons still work for presets and the sound is very good.  He states that the reception for FM is excellent with the windshield antenna's on the 70-72's.  Anyone looking to have this done I can give you a contact.  He is out of Michigan and it is about a 3-4 week turn around.  It is $380 for the conversion for the 2 or 4 channel.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Wanted: 1971 am/fm radio for ElCamino

Hey guys, I'm still looking for a radio for my El Camino.  The 71 has the white letters and "blue" bar at the top of the radio. I have a good 1970  Chevy radio with "green" bar (am) but I'd like to keep it as close to origional as possible. I'm checking E Bay, but I'd rather find one from  a Chevelle fan who knows what is what.  If you should have one or know of one, please contact me at [EMAIL PROTECTED]  Thanks   Bob K  71 Elky
