I personally think that one of your fenders were replaced at some point.
I am in the middle of a frame off restoration on my Convertible 69 which is equipped
with A/C. The car came with plastic inner fenders, when I removed them of course they
were horrible. After much asking around even on this list, I was told that at the
plant they put in what they had, some with plastic some with metal.
I decided to go with metal, much better and sturdier fit, the plastic ones are very
hard to fit properly.
