There is a small plug just above the timing cover on the drivers side but I don't think there's room enough for a sending unit - might be though but it'd look out of place.  You could use a short 1/8" NPT nipple, a 90º elbow, another nipple and elbow to move the fitting out and away from the distributor - but isn't the oil gauge a mechanical unit for a 67 dash with gauges requiring a nylon hose or copper line?   Maybe reproduction units are different?

Isn't there a plug for oil @ the front of block? I know I have one on my 86-350 and I put a sending unit there.
