Clint.. I replied to the original thread on TC. I have one of the first original Gaylord covers on my 65, it was textured . I used a DA and smoothed it ( a tree fell on the bed and broke it so I could not re create a smooth textured repair) . It's also the old style that follows the body top rail.. My 85 El-Camino has the Smooth black Gaylord lid... The finish to smooth and the black gel coat STRAIGHT
All the mounting hardware is Stainless Steel , hinges included,, with gas struts. My only thing is there locking scheme. It used a barrel key. and you must unlock each side. as compared to the 65 which had one KEY and locked to a bracket you installed on the inside top of the tail gate..
go to TC my show room you can see them there @ Waynek #186

Any of you Elky owners running a bed cover? What brand? Type of finish? I
want something smooth that doesn't look like it belongs on a Southern
Redneck's truck. <grin>
