Hi all I have been lurking in the background, and due to house selling, getting green card and laziness I have not done very much to my Camino. Well, the motivation has increased specially as I have got some money to complete the engine, and here I very much would like to get your feedback. My basic idea is to use a Vortech supercharger with a Holley or a Demon and go for 11 PSI. . The bottom part is already done, 4-bolt mains, 362 cu, Eagle crankshaft, rods and CP pistons and with 64 cc head the compression rate will be just below 8.
The camshaft is 234 int./244 exh, lift .488 and .510 lobe separation 114 degrees The heads I consider to buy are Vortec 25534421 or 25534431, the main (only?) difference between the heads are the volume of the intake and exhaust ports. They are significant bigger on the 31 head. Going with an overloaded motor, is there any advantage of bigger ports, or is there no significant difference? Any other heads you think I should consider? Price for the heads for gmpartdepot is 478 and 525 USD per piece Anybody with experience from the Vortec supercharger? Any other brand you recommend? Fuel pump will be my next consideration, not sure how to calculate the volume needed, but pressure must be above 35 PSI.
