I remember being 15 and looking for my first car. On the way to high school there was a 1970 Chevelle SS, (white with a black vinyl top, Craiger SS rims with Radial T/A H60-15's on the rear and G70-15's on the front) sitting in a driveway along the way. I never did get that car...
Bought a 68 Camaro instead. Totaled it and bought another... 7 Camaro's later, purchase my first Chevelle (actual an Elky) in 1982 for $900. A green 71 with a 350/turbo 350 on the column. Transition began and she ended up as a Marina Blue SS Clone with a new 350 drive train, bucket seats Craiger SST's etc. When the second child was on the way in 95 I tried to sell her, but the best offer was $1500. I donated the car to the Kidney foundation and took a well documented write off.
Began my search for a convertible in 2001. Decided I wanted a 67 Corvette (white with a black ragtop) Still had that Chevelle on mind...Those two children kept popping into my head over and over. How would I fit them into the corvette at the same time?
Finally came to my senses and purchased a 1970 Chevelle SS/4speed in November of 2002. I get a lot of compliments on my ride and my two girls just love riding in the "Fast Car."
Oh Yea...Just turned 44.
