Acording to the assembly manual the neg. goes to the front pass. side of the block. The positive is held in place by 1 clip to the frame directly down from the battery and 2 clips on the oil pan. If it is an auto you can tie it up to the trans cooler lines. As far as I know it goes to the starter.  On mine it takes a slight route
detour and goes to a remote solenoid.  I could be wrong but I'll double
check when I go out to the garage later.

battery cables in my 69 chevelle are just wrong.  By wrong, I mean that
they

don't have any clips to attach to the frame to hold the cable in place.
The

cable is dangling next to the tie rods ends. Can someone tell me where to
route this so the movement of the tie rods doesn't hit the battery cable?
