I'm able to walk now without the padded boot. Still weak and tender,though. Thanks for asking,Bob.
Adding a posi is possible just by installing a limited-slip differential. Eaton makes a good one. However,your 3.08 ring & pinion will need their clearances re-done when the posi unit is added.

No need to change rear ends unless you absolutely need the extra strength. 3.73's will work fine if you have an overdrive trans. They're kinda low if you don't.

Im thinking of changing the gears in the rearend of my 65 chevelle. im pretty sure they are 308's and its a 10 bolt. can a guy get new gears or should he swap rear ends if he can find one.
id like to have 378's or something in that range and posi. any ideas?
