I dont know, but they obviously dont need my money so they wont get them.
I think John has what I need and if that is the case he'll get them instead.

but, I'll look into the autolocs anyway because they could be used to make power vent windows (thanks for the idea Ed)

I’m thinking A1 must be incorrect or they have odd-ball kits for 68-69.  GM parts book shows the same rear power (and manual) regulator assembly for 68-72 sport coupe & convertible.

First of all, Thanks Dale, I'll look into autoloc.

for your info this is the "customer friendly" answer I got from A-1 when asking a couple of questions (start at the bottom)

ciao

André

Thanks for your "kind" answer.

I wasnt really that interested in whe the deals between you and jegs.

As a client I just asked which internet site was right, your site or jegs site. I asked this because I intended to buy a kit from you and didn’t mind modifying a kit intended for another car if you didn’t offer a kit for my car.

I guess this is not the best day of the week for you, but is this customer service???

First off, we are not affiliated with JEGS in any way. They are our competition. They list kits for the 68 because they don't know any better. There is NO custom kit for the 68 and 69

Comments: Hi,

I can see that jegs list your partnumber gm94-7072k for the rear and gm-90-7072k for the front application of my chevelle, but doublechecking on your site, it seems that they wont fit and that you dont offer a power window kit for my car.

what is right?.

if its right that you dont have a kit, would I be able to modify one of your kits to fit my application?

I'd need both front and rear.

thank you!

André

The mechanism hid completely behind the door panel, nothing stuck out or bulged.  I never had any mechanical or electrical problems with them at all in the 3 years I had them in before I sold the car.  I also opted for the AutoLoc express up/down for the fronts…loved that.  To me, nice things about them over factory style is (1) ease of installation and (2) they can be removed at any time and your manual window crank put back on if you want to move them to another car.  Sneaky me, I didn’t put switches in the rear of the car so my grandkids couldn’t ‘play’ with the windows :*)

Dale,

I have been wanting to ask you about your power windows from Spal. Does the rotary part that the handle used to fit on still stick out of the door panel? If so, what did you do to cover it up? Overall, how did you like them?

Thanks,

Fred

OEM type may be difficult to find.  I just checked with http://www.a1electric.com and they have kits for the 68-69 2-dr post but not the coupe. For 68 and 69 hardtop they state, “Bolt in window kit is not available for this application.  The GM90-K and GM93-K will not work correctly in this car!”

Maybe someone else makes them but another alternative is to use a universal kit like those from Spal or http://www.autoloc.com/search.lasso?partno=pw44 .  They don’t replace the entire assembly but rather have a drive that slips over the factory handle stub and it’s motorized.  I used a complete set of four on my 67 and really liked them.  Easy to install and didn’t have to take apart the entire door or rear quarters to make ‘em work.

Here’s a photo of a unit on my front door and the rear windows were essentially the same setup.
