My ignition system is not set up the traditional way. At some point somebody tried to bypass the neutral safety switch so they could have a B&M shifter in the center. Some of the wires under there have been cut and patched together. Now if I use the wires from the harness, any time the key is in the run position, the solenoid is engaged. So, I created a temporary solution (which is also somewhat of a security system) by installing my own switch to provide power to the solenoid. The key still has to be in the run position for the car to start, but the solenoid gets its juice from my wire rather than from the harness.

Anyway, I started and stopped a few times today and did not seem to have any problems. Keep your fingers crossed.

Ah, ok.. that makes sense. Does anyone know if there is a fuseable link in that wire? Seems like there are a few of those hidden about in that harness.
