I've checked that! When I use two batteries
The starter engages properly/fully!
So I'm convinced it's the battery that is too weak
to handle the starter, making
it engage only partially.

(Solution to Starter problems)
I believe if your only engaging a small part of the gear you need to shim
it closer to the flywheel. You'll wear out the bendix gear and get stuck some
place. Same thing happened to me. Pelle Andersson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Yeah
I've just read them! Thanks! I discussed my problem with another gearhead
here in Sweden and I believe we're on to something here!
The
starters teeth are a bit blunt at the top which makes it hard for the
starter to engage to the flexplate with my battery that is a tad too weak
for a ministarter, according to the article you sent! (63/650
Amps) The result is that the starter only engages the very top of
its teeth to the flexplate, when I get it to engage at all? I bet this
is the answer to my problems!?
