Bob, it really depends on how you plan to use the engine.  If doing a lot of wide open throttle blasts then you need 650 or better.  All with vacuum secondaries due to automatic trans.  Otherwise the 600 will most likely give you great response on street and will perform quite well.  Did you put the 78 jets in the primary or the secondary?  Way too big for primary.  Probably 71's would be as big as needed.  Also, where you live ( altitude) will have some say in all this.  John

Subject: [Chevelle-list] which carb

I've looked to you guys for help and im back . I have a 350 with approx 375 horses .  I found out the carb that came off my 283 is a Holley 600 double pumper.,when we swapped motors,we put it on the new engine. Its flooding out on the secondary's every once in a while so i got a buddy to help me rebuild it when we get some time this week. before i put it on, should i think about another carb, such as a 700 or 750?I don't know what jets it has ,but i bought a set of #75 jets to put in it. is this enough air (600cfm) or should i look else where?
thanks for your help,again
