I'm not looking for that kind of compression. I haven't checked to see how
far the pistons come up, but I would be putting 64cc Vortecs on it. Mostly,
I just wondered how well that much overbore would work or if it might cause
overheating due to the thin walls. It is an '82 4 bolt with 4 eyebrow flat
tops. Probably go with a comp 268 or so hydraulic cam, dual plane and
headers. Hoping for about 300 horses and decent torque.

I have a .030 over 350 in my 66. I updated the cooling system to
accommodate
the heating up problem. I used 9.5:1 pistons then used a set of completely
reworked 64cc heads that were shaved to bring the compression ratio to
10.75:1 . I would suggest getting a good radiator preferable aluminum. I'm
sure other people have other opinions. But this combination worked well
for
me. I also have an electric fan installed with an override switch for
driving in traffic. The switch bypasses the temp switch leaving the fan
run
continuously.

Hey guys, does anyone have any experience with a .060 350? I have a chance
to pick up a fresh short block for cheap, but I wonder if it will be prone
to overheating. I've never built or ran one .060 over. It would be a mild
build for semi-daily use. Any advice or comments would be appreciated.
Thanks, Brian

What is better about Plasti-kote? Color? Durability? Some folks have
said I should use POR-15.
Thanks,
Dennis

IMO you'll be better off with the Plasti-kote brand.

Ask if the block was sonic-tested prior to the overbore. Any chance
you'd be able to speak with the shop that did the machine work?

They are not mine and I have been told the reserve is 15K per. They are
both listed as 70 SS convertibles. The link has all the info I can get
and they would not give me the VIN's.
Sorry for the short notice I just saw this in yesterdays newspaper.

No doubt blowers are sexy. But, a properly sized turbo will kick the snot
out of a blower any day of the week. And they can be sexy too. You just
have to open your hood. :)

Yeah,I wish I had those kinds of problems. Am beginning to think a turbo
is
the way to go on my car's 355". It probably wouldn't cost any more than a
new 383" crate motor and would be a heckuva lot faster.
