My kid hangs out at a place in Orlando called
Corvette Masters, which has a chassis dyno. I hope to run mine there before too
long. I'm curious where the numbers will be...

with my 396??
Very cool. My engine guy only ran mine up to 5500 rpm on
the dyno and that's where it hit peak hp (460). It should hopefully
redline higher than that and pick up some extra ponies. I'm curious to
maybe put the car on a chassis dyno later and see what the rwhp is. I
know I sacrificed some top end though by using a 750 cfm carb, but the goal
was to keep it streetable. Not sure if I accomplished that, but we'll
see.

Thanks
Matt. Here's the video to one of
the actual runs. The guy had it set to accelerate 300RPM every second, and
he shut down at around 6500. The red LED tach you see is lagging behind, and
the guy is actually going by an analog meter. www.fuglybrothers.com/videos/dyno-run.wmv Larry Shouse

- Nice Larry! The video is awesome. Wish I had done that at
my dyno run.

- 442hp @ 6000rpm
- 467fp @ 4250rpm
- I hope to get better numbers after it's in
the car and we can work with the carburetor some. The guy running the
dyno took my carb off and put a custom job that was on the shelf on my
engine and picked up 17 more horses without any tweaking (469hp). I just
can't afford custom stuff like that though.
- BTW, I forgot to mention I'm running L78
heads. Although I did get the heads rebuilt, I did not have any porting
or polishing done.
