that's correct because the pedal won’t spring back unless the cable is

Bought new intermediate cable, cable hooks and cable connectors. Freed
front cable (was crud-ed in) and cleaned threads for adjusting. Parking Brake
assembly - in good shape. Ratcheting mechanism fine. Brake release
handle / spring fine. Question:
Is it solely the tension of the parking brake return springs in the rear
drums that returns the parking brake foot pedal to a none engaged position at
the parking brake assembly? Seems so. Thanks for
