Hi,
You're right, it's the same principle as core plugs on an engine block that allow removal of the casting sand.

I always wondered what the purpose of a drain plug that is sealed into place is. Is it to drain off something that the body was dunked in at the factory, before the holes were sealed?

Hi,

Use 3M Fast and Firm seal sealer.

I'm getting ready to do the interior and I was wondering what is the correct way to seal the drain plugs to the floor pans ? I don't suppose plumbers putty or caulking them is the right way ? Thanks,  Jimmy.C
