It sounds like it will be easier to just buy 69 hinges.  Thanks to all who answered.

Sorry, no use a 69 hood on 68 car.  Use 69 hinge.  If use 68 hood on 69 then use 68 hinges.  John

This sounds like using a 68 hood on a set of 69 hinges.... but I'm not sure also.  Thanks for the input.  Any other experiences?

I have drilled on set of hinges and honed the hole a bit to work. I don't know if I did 69 hinge to fit 68 or 68 hinge to fit 69. I did use the back hole but the front hole was different location.

Not much help but my experience

Has anyone had any luck modifying the hood hinges from a 68 in order to put a 69 hood on a 68 with the 68 hinges?  It appears that the rear mounting point is farther back on a 69 hood, but can you just extend the hood mounting point on the 68 hinges rearward to make it work?  I know you can buy repo 69 hinges to solve this problem, but I have pretty good metal working skills, and wondered if I could save a few frogskins......  Thanks.
