I don’t know about a Chevelle Speedometer, but…I had a 1978 Ford
Pickup, you could remove the speedometer and take it apart very easily. You
then look at the back. There is a pressed in pin or rod that holds the gears
against the odometer number wheels. The pin or rod could be carefully tapped
out, and the numbers moved any way you wanted them. The problem is…..making
sure the alignment of the numbers is correct. Then, all you have to do is
reinstall the rod. After doing it several times…it’s pretty easy. It
takes probably less than 30 minutes or less. From: IMO that would be much safer than manually spinning
the wheels. Good idea. -----Original

just stick the speedo cable in where it belongs, then attach a drill on the
other end and advance it? |
