My guess would be that GM doesn’t ‘recommend’ additives like STP, Marvel, Wynns, etc. so as not to be held liable.

I’d definitely use EOS.  It used to be that GM wouldn’t honor a warranty on a replacement engine UNLESS EOS was used.  It’s not designed as an additive but it is designed for initial fireup.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] EOS in my oil?

Does anyone on the list have experience with EOS?

I will soon fire up my new GMPP 350 and have received conflicting info about cam lube.

This is from the Sallee Chevrolet Installation and Break-in Guide for GMPP Crate engines:
Before starting your engine for the first time, add one pint of engine oil supplement (EOS¹) to the crankcase oil and then check the oil level.  Once this has been done, prime the oil system with an oil pump primer tool.

Note¹: EOS P/N 1052367 can be used any time during the life of the engine.

This is from the label on E.O.S. 1052367 Assembly Lubricant:
GM Does not recommend the use of this or any product as an additive to engine oil.

Can you help?

Thanks,
