Build sheets can be found any number of places in the interior, inside
seats, door panels, under carpets, in headliner, etc., IF the line worker
left it there...they were suppose to be tossed in the trash when the car was
completed. Protect-o-plate was issued with the warranty book and is a metal
credit-card size plate with reverse stamping. Has VIN, engine number, trans
number, rear axle number, body/interior colors, and some options like A/C,
P/S, P/B, etc. Most were tossed after warranty period expired or car was
sold. Here's what a 68 POP looks like:

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Build Sheet?

Hey guys...where would I find the build sheet on a '68 Chevelle??
What is and where would I find a 'protect-o-plate'?? I've seen
references to them,
but still am not sure what it is...

Thanks!

Ron
