Brad, I might have pulled those numbers out of my hinder... Maybe it was for receiving credit card payments, I don't know now. I didn't realize you could receive personal payments for no charge. Thanks for the info!

You can't accept credit cards, but for a single car purchase, that should not be an issue. As for 4% to 7% fees, maybe on a $10 transaction for a merchant account. Their highest fee is 2.9% + 30 cents, which would be 59 cents of a $10 purchase, or 5.9%. On a $500 transaction fees would be no more than $14.80, or 2.96%. Maybe you are thinking of the eBay fees, which are higher? Brad Waller Larry, One thing about PayPal, is that they take somewhere between 4 and 7 percent of the incoming payment as a 'handling' fee. That can be real money when selling a car, and in my opinion makes the wire transfer a much safer bet.

Can you post a link to the auction? ----- Original Message -----
Give us a listing number or a link, Larry. I'd like to see it. -----Original Message----- From: Larry Shouse Sent: May 9, 2006 7:44 PM To: Chevelle List Subject: [Chevelle-list] OT - Car Sale Question
I have a 1950 Studebaker listed on eBay for sale. An eBay member contacted me saying he is from Norway, and would like to bid on the car. He has 40+ positive feedbacks and no negatives, and is willing to pay for the car through Paypal in full, and will hire a car transport company to pick up the vehicle once I'm satisfied with the payment. I've heard of some scams involving buyers from overseas. What's your thoughts? Thanks, Larry Shouse
