I am using a later box and that definitely
seems to be the issue. Instead of an adapter, can’t I just buy the
fittings and the 6” hard line? I thought that would be easier but then
again, I can’t seem to find them anywhere J - JB From:

Behalf Of Rick Schaefer OOps Early P/S boxes did not have o-rings. Later ones
did. The early hoses have a flare fitting on the end that mates to a
flare in the box coupling. IF you are using a later box that used o-rings, you can buy adapters
that allow the use of early non o-ring hoses. On 8/11/06, Rick

Power Steering Box
Hey
Everyone,
I just put on a new (used) steering box on my Chevelle but I've found that
after screwing the two lines in, they move around even though the bolts are
tight. Is there supposed to be some sort of grommet in there? With
the lines loose, the fluid just comes right out (of course). Any ideas? Thanks! JB 69
