Let me add to the "never, never" - kids bubbles.  My dad has a '33 Nash, 
lacquer with Carnuba wax.  We used it for family weddings and  at one wedding 
instead of rice/birdseed everyone got small bottles of bubbles.  The bubbles 
that landed on the car left a discoloration that required a termendous amount 
of elbow grease to polish out as many landed on the double lined hand painted 
(3 coats) pin stripe.
