Hello all, Well, a lot has happened since I posted a few weeks ago saying I was thinking about selling my 69 Chevelle SS396. In addition to using the knowledge I tried to pick up over the past 12 years of owning it (at various local car events & regional ones like Carlisle), I set a price & advertised the car and after a few weeks of getting lots of interest & callers & lookers, I did find someone who really wanted the car & was willing to pay what I think was a pretty fair price & nnI sold it this past Sunday.
The past 12 years of ownership have been mainly ups and the car provided many times of enjoyment for me & my dad. And that is what I bought the car for, since he's the mechanic in the family & he really loved to tinker & fix everything under the sun and I know he would have never bought one on his own. But after losing him to cancer now and not being the talented mechanic type myself and not having the time to really spend with the car to learn in order to take on those larger tasks which are called on from time-to-time to keep it going in its primo shape, I decided to call an end to my foray into the 40-year-old cars. While my next step will be to move to something current that still has some HP but with lower miles (I like the looks of this new HEMI Challenger that's coming & the Shelby Mustang also doesn't look too bad), the last 2 items on my Chevelle task list are 1) to advertise a PILE of new & used Chevelle parts & manuals & documentation & trinkets such as diecasts & clothing) that I have accumulated over the past 12 years (I have a TON of stuff and for everything that's new I'll try to get about 50% of list price and for anything that's used I'll take any reasonable offer). I'd post the list of stuff here but that'd probably be spamming, so if anyone would like to see the list, you can drop me a line @ [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2) to say goodbye to everyone here & to THANK you for all the help to my specific questions over the years & for all the general good info and entertainment you've provided all along. Thanks! Jim -former-SS396- H.
