Hi Dan & Alex,

I have heard from several different people that the petitions that people
sign on the internet are not legal or usable. For a petition to be useable
it must have a hand written signature and a large number to be accepted.
They have said that what usually happens with on line petitions is that your
email address ends up in the hands of solicitors, and spammers or even
worse. Perhaps this is wrong, but I have heard this from quite a few
different people over the last several years.

I commend everyone for attempting to get accomplished what our elected
officials can't be bothered with, but unfortunately the lobbyists offer way
too much money and other things that highly override their need to help the
people who voted them in. I have a favorite saying and I will continue to
use it until a politician proves me wrong "Show me a politician and you have
just shown me a crook". No one spends millions of dollars on a campaign to
win a job that pays $100,000 or less a year.

Sorry didn't mean to go on that long, just my two cents and that's probably
all it is worth.

This is a WIN WIN proposal. Drilling for American Oil on or near America
would create more jobs, lower the cost of getting the oil to the refinery,
greatly reduce the income of our enemies, (Hugo Chavez, etc). AND Lower the
cost of gas/diesel at the pump. It would also kill the ethanol and soydiesel
programs which, along with the current high cost of transportation, are
driving up food prices. This single thing will do more to help the poor
than any government program. I signed hope everyone else will too. Thanks
Dan.

Here is a link to a petition titled "Drill Here, Drill Now, Pay Less".

As gas prices continue to increase, Congress continues to blame others while
ignoring practical steps to stop the pain Americans are feeling at the pump.
To lower gasoline prices and reduce our dependence on foreign oil, we need
to drill.

I encourage all of you to sign and share with your friends.
