When I bought my 66 it had the super coil on it. Never had any problems, pretty good product for the money. On the other hand I had an Accel distributer in my Monte Carlo and I switched it out to a GM distributer due to the fact in the upper rpms (4600 on up) it would misfire horribly with the GM no problems all the way up to 6000.

While the cap is off, I would suggest taking a good look at the advance weights, pins and springs to make sure they are not worn.
