An offer for Dream CG meet 4

Dear Shubhranshu Ji,

We request you to please include Lok Sangwaari as CG net member. We
are eager to participate in CG net annual meet being organized in
Bilaspur in the first week of next Jun.

We are aware about the requirement of toilet facility during the meet.
It would be not good if friends forced to go with a Lota to answer
natural call. Certainly, it would be a shameful. It was a great
challenge for us also, when we planned a 7 days Padyatra last year in
September from Ambagarh Chouki to Raipur. One of our Sangwaari Sanjeev
Yadav designed and developed a unique toilets made of wooden seats.
It’s so simple to install. We have to dig to make a whole on which
seat would be installed. After the use, mud has to be poured, instead
to flush excreta. Thus, it saves the water and after six months
converts into bio fertilizer.

We have 15 such seats along with some curtains also to create toilet
rooms. Some bamboos and Sabbal (digging tool) would be required for
it.

We offer our service to install toilets and to maintain cleanliness
also. We suppose it as most pious & holy job. Great poet Gajanan
Madhav Muktibodh said ‘Jo hai, ussey behatar chahiye. Dunia ko
badalney ko ek mehtar chahiye.’ The name of Muktibodh is one of
identity of Rajnandgaon and we are proud that we live in Rajnandgaon.

To be very frank, we are a small and poor Pariwaar, and active without
any funding. So, we can not afford to contribute economically for CG
net meet. But certainly, we would be ready to contribute in other
terms whatever it is in the limit of our capacity.

Bhan Sahu

GROWING INCIDENCE OF CUSTODIAL DEATH IN CG

GROWING INCIDENCE OF CUSTODIAL DEATH IN CG

Death of two youths under police custody in separate incident within a
week ringing alarm on continuously deteriorating condition of human
rights in the state.
Woefully, both the incident happened in Raipur and Bilaspur, which
happened to be the capital city of the state and other the judicial
capital.
The growing incidence of custodial deaths symbolizes the barbarism of
police and their disregard towards law. It is the fallout of states
arrogance towards dishonouring right and dignity of life. This
superciliousness is evident through states active support to violent
salwa judum against the innocent adivasi.
Ravi Bhrahmankar, aged 21 year was in police custody since April 03rd,
Friday but not taken to court. Police, in their defence, alleged that
he committed suicide inside the police station by hanging himself to
the sacred thread (janeau). If so, then why police hanged him down in
absence of senior police officer and without videography?
So many questions raised on the way police have been acted with the
accused in the custody. Unnecessary thrashing, especially with youth
makes police more atrocious.
The other incident happened on April 08th, Wednesday at Central jail
Bilaspur. Vijay kumar Dadsena, aged 32 years was a teacher in a
village of Pandaria block. He was in custody since 05th April when
arrested from Pandaria block office because he was under the influence
of liquor while attending a training for election duty.
Police said that he died due to receiving injury while slipped in the
toilet. While it was reported in the media that deceased received
injuries on chest, hand and legs.
Both the above incident pointing towards impunity of police in such
cases and lack of accountability towards citizen. The police treat
common citizen, especially dalit, adivasi, minority and poor as
criminal. They have no regard for dignity and right of life of these
vulnerable people. Police and their system only listen to powerful and
influential.
Only deterrent to such condition is the law and order created by the
government who really respects the human rights of citizen.
Unfortunately, Chhattisgarh lacks such government who respects human
rights. Here, the defender of human rights deserve life behind bars,
as evident in the case of Dr Binayak Sen. Section of media too, sing
the same tune and appreciate the government. Thus, result is obvious
growing arrogance and sense of impunity among police resulted into
such custodial deaths. Death of two innocent youth in police custody
and hushing-up of cases by police shows that in which direction state
is heading towards.
