On the one hand, it shows to the community that we've been making steady progress and gives people an opportunity to have a sneak preview of what's to come, and maybe provide early feedback and bug reports. On the other hand, you might get misguided efforts at porting eggs and other code to this version, of which we know the API will still change pretty drastically. For now maybe it's best to leave it unannounced (except for here). People who read this list will tend to know what they're doing. Cheers, Peter
