However, if you are on Mac OS X Leopard with a Core 2 Duo processor (i.e. any reasonably recent system), you could try building Chicken in 64-bit mode:
make PLATFORM=macosx ARCH=x86-64 This is still a bit experimental, but should overcome that problem.
