Thanks Liz, I am so relieved.  I could have sworn that I put something like HELP, or URGENT ADVICE, but I was really upset and crying so I must have messed up.  Hopefully I will never have to make another post like that! Thanks again,

~Patricia

You must be so relieved, Trinity too.  I notice that in your original message you put nothing in the subject line.  You were probably upset and in a hurry, but I bet if you had stated in your subject line that you needed help you would have received more responses.  Just a thought.  Anyway, I'm so glad Trinity is on the mend and you can relax.

Paige and Martha and Cyn  - Thanks for your thoughts.  As I just emailed Cyndie, Trinity is doing great now.  The Pepto gave her a major case of constipation.  We gave her bits of bread with lots of butter and that helped her out.  We really thought that we were going to lose her when she could barely walk and was shaking non-stop.  It was clear that her discomfort was coming from her stomach and hind end.  Once she was able to “go” she was much happier.  This morning she was still having a hard time jumping up on the couch, but as the day wore on she eventually got back to her old happy little self.

~Patricia and a happy Trinity

There was a recent discussion on another chi group I am on about this topic and someone had said that pepto bismal was dangerous for dogs. HOWEVER, I have always used the liquid form to cure diarrhea, vomiting, ect in my dogs and have found it to be helpful.....so not sure about that. However, I would say that ANYTHING in high dose would be bad. If a little chi got a hold of a lot...it could be dangerous and I wouldn't take chances if she is acting unwell. Hope you get through to the vet.

Does anyone know if Pepto Bismal tablets are dangerous to  chi’s.  Trinity got into some this morning but seemed fine all day.  I just came back from the store and she is definitely not feeling well.  My husband is trying to get a hold poison control and is on hold. I am so worried, I don’t know how many she actually ingested, there were crumbs and pieces of wrapper on the floor along with unopened ones. Thanks in advance.
