Of course crating is very good for potty training and keeping a puppy
safe. I just have never crated a puppy or dog and my dogs have always been
well potty trained. Ive never been gone a long time from home though,
also. I only have Sophie now and she is 7 months. To keep her
safe when I do have to go somewhere, I put her in a small bedroom that I know
has nothing in it that will harm her. I do put a pee pad on
the floor in case, still being a puppy, she would have to go potty, but that
almost never happens. Not everyone crates their dogs and pups. I
have a huge family. All of us have dogs. None of us use
crates. As I said they definitely are the best for potty training, but
sometimes you just have to do what works best for you and your individual
situation.
