Hello, I'm Vanessa from Southern Ontario. My friend and I recently found a little boy at the side of the road while on a rescue transport for another animal. It has been almost a week of contacting shelters and animal control facilities, checking online at Petfinder and the local newspaper classifieds, and it looks as if his previous home is not coming forward to claim him. He is not microchipped, and had no information on his collar at all. It is cold in Southern Ontario, and he would have frozen to death if we had left him at the side of the road. It was a four lane 80km zone, and he was very close to being hit by a car. I have never owned a chihuahua, I have never been a dog owner at all. I have never planned to own a dog at all. My mother would like to take the little guy, so now I am doing some information cramming. My mother has owned dogs in her life, but not for many years, and they were always big breeds. Benjamin has already seen my vet, who feels he is about four, he is not altered, and needs to have his teeth cleaned. He is also a bit underweight at 1.8kg. His nails were very overgrown, which my vet took care of clipping when he saw her. Can people point me in the direction of a good caresheet on the internet? I know that information can sometimes be misleading, and downright incorrect, so I am hoping that someone can provide a link to a caresheet that I can trust as being accurate. I just need the basics for now, he seems to be litterbox trained already for the most part, and has an extremely good temperament. He gets along well with other dogs, and ignores cats, so that seems to be very good. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you,
