Oh yes she does it the entire time whoever is there! Including me and  you know good and well she should be used to me by now, Diane got her in late 9/04 so she should know me by this time. She is the meanest little dog I have ever seen, she doesn't weigh 4 pounds soaking wet but that mouth and temper sure makes up for it...normajean

This you need someone willing to help.........
Put a leash on the dog, have squirt bottle in hand.  Open door to admit person when dog lunges at person, yank hard on leash and squirt, at the same time say No or even better ECK in a course loud gruntal tone.  Dogs do not like ECK at all.
Yank the leash hard enough to knock her off her feet.      Sounds cruel,  not really, only takes a few times and I don't mean to yank the leash so to cause damage, just enough to get her off balance.

The next question is, does she continue to act this way after the people are in and socializing or just when they enter?

Hope that helps, It worked wonders for a male miniture collie I had that did that.

Seeing this post about the biteing dog reminded me that I needed to ask a question. My grand dog Angel is anything but!....anyhow she is about 1 1/2 and has recently started actually attacking and biteing people that enter my daughter's home and my daughter asked me today what in the world can she do. I advised her to put the dog up before she answers the door but of course that is no real solution, can anyone offer some help here? I carried a bite mark on my upper arm for over 2 weeks from her recently,( like I said angel? anything but!!!!) She has always been a bit of a b.... ever since my daughter got her but instead of getting better she is getting worse. It isn't like she isn't around anyone as my daughter has quite a bit of company and my grand daughter just turned 13 so you know she has lots of company there. No one has teased angel either so that isn't why she is like this about all i can do is say H-E-L-P!!!!! normajean (oh I meant to tell you my daughter has had her since she was 5 weeks old)

My little one bites when he is playing but doesnt bite when I am walking. I would think try a squirt bottle and say no at the same time. That should get him to stop.
