Hi Heather and Zoey:

I am sorry to hear about Zoey.  I have been keeping up with her pics from the beginning.  I don't know anything about this problem but if food is a concern I have been trying to find the best food for my chis and have located 2 that I think are excellent foods.  Weneane (98% organic and don't know if I spelled that right) and Karma (95% organic).  Both my girls like these and I beleive they might also be considered holistic.  the ingredients read very well.  I also belong to a dog food chat group and there is a nutritionist that offers advice.  Would you like for me to pass your email address to her?  I will be glad to help in any way I can.  Best Wishes to you and your darling little girl.  Michelle LeCroy

Thank-you for your information.  I do tell her how beautiful she is.  As for Science Diet...I will not feed that to one of my dead dogs....Sorry I have had really bad experiences with it.  (I lost many YOUNG dogs to rare forms of cancer when I was feeding it)  Since I switched to Eukanuba I have not had 1 dog get Cancer, and it's been going on 9 years now.  Just my personal experience.

Hello Heather and Zoey,
I'm sooooooo sorry to hear of this.  I'm an "Herbalist" but not been doing it for a long period of time.  I will check through my notes and also contact my instructor who taught my classes to validate what I come up with and that it will work as well on a Chihuahua as on a human.  There HAS TO BE something.  What are you feeding her?  I feed Science Diet.......maybe you could get her the "Puppy Science Diet" that has a little more nutrition in it than for older doggies.  I would "not bathe" her unless it's really necessary, but IF I had to bathe her, I think I would use something like Johnson's Baby Shampoo that's made for human children.  It seems it would be much gentler.  I read that article, and it doesn't say that the hair never grows back.......just that it grows back slower.........it did say that it could possibly "not grow back", but it wasn't a "definite" so I'd keep positive and keep telling Zoey what a BEAUTIFUL LITTLE GIRL she IS.......cause there's no such thing as
"an ugly Chihuahua".......even if they're bald they're still beautiful little babies.  I'm thinking that there has to be an herb or a vitamin that will stimulate the hair follicles and circulation around them.  I'll get back to you on this ~ just give me a bit of time to research it and confer with someone who's been doing Herbology much much longer than I have.  Give Zoey a hug for me.  Sash
