Venus, we just got a puppy chi in December. I have
a 5 year old male chi that started doing the same thing. I dont have
papers down for the puppy as we take him outside. It lasted for a couple of
weeks and then he stopped doing it. I dont know if it was a jealousy thing or
what. We did tell him no outside (which he already knew). He has since stopped
so I dont know exactly why he did it. I hope yours will stop too.
Hugs, Rocky

Subject: [Chihuahuas] Potty training
issues
Help after getting a new puppy our Chihuahua is making
messes in the house. The new puppy is a Bullmastiff ( not a pit bull...
please do not get them mixed up.. they are two completely different
breeds) and potty trained in about 1.5 weeks. I don't understand... we
have not given the puppy more attention then Chip. I make extra sure the
Chip gets lots of time without the puppy. As before Chip sleeps in my arms
at night and always gets to sit on my lap when I'm reading or watching
TV or when we go for car rides. We use treats to help with training and
even gave them to Chip when he went potty outside to help him not get
jealous, etc. Basically Chip is popping and peeing in the house.
We
have also had issues with basic training... Chip started jumping on people
again and even growled at a lady in the petstore the other day. These
aren't issues that the puppy has ever hadÂ…
The puppy and Chip are
getting alone great... Chip is the alpha of the two dogs. They nap
together and even play tug-a-war and ball together. The funnies thing is
to see Roc, the Bullmastiff puppy, lightly biting and holding the rope in
his month while Chip pulls and tugs. Roc will then let go and Chip runs
around like "YES I got it..." then he takes it back and drops it in front
of Roc.
Has anyone else ran into this issue?? If so what do you
suggest?
Thanks, Venus
