Has he been scooting his bottom at all??? I am not an expert nor a vet but I would look to something like maybe an anal gland.. If you haven't changed the food or anything but this is starting then I would watch.. If your dog is scooting his bottom or acting in anyway like it isn't right then maybe the other dog is picking up the vibes.. I would have the vet take a look if it continues for a long time with no relief in site..Cindy

i do know that dogs will lick you and sheets to get the salt that comes off of your bodies but i dont know why he is licking his rectum i have never had tha problem other then my one chi he likes to lick my cats
