you mean money from a show dog can only be made from champions?? Again, I
don't claim any knowledge in that area. I just assumed since so many people
look for show dogs, it was because there were winnings ($$) involved.  As
far as just breeding for pets, yea, a person COULD make a lot of money. They
do it by breeding those tinies and claiming "teacup", but like you said,
there is no such thing!! so basically, it is a gimmick, but it
works....people can get a couple of thousand dollars just because a chi will
be small. To me, that is sooo stupid!! My smallest chi is currently 2 1/2
pounds and I am trying to put weight on her! I don't want one that small!!
BUT, to me, she is certainly no more valuable than my 7 pounder. It is my
opinion that it is bad ethics to charge so much money for any chi. But that
is just my opinion. Personally, I normally get in the neighborhood of $300
to $400 for a pup, and that barely covers my cost (if it covers them at all)
