They are just the runt of the litter or just smaller, plain and simple. I mean you can take two families of humans and one family can be tall people and the other family short people, but unless they have dwarfism, they are not "miniatures", ect. They are just smaller. Some breeds DO have miniatures, toys, ect. Take the Poodle for instance...you have your standard, your toy, ect. But with Chihuahuas, the only distinction is long coat or short coat. But, people who don't know better are often taken advantage of by unethical breeders and convinced to pay tons of money for a "toy" chi....... I have chis ranging from 3 pound to 7 pounds, but my 3 pounder is no different than my 7 pounder...just smaller. A chi is a chi is a chi. Marsha
