I lost a much beloved companion to old age in
November. He was a larger long coat Chi. He was
full Chi. He was not small. He had the most
beautiful face/eyes/head of any Chi I have seen
before during and since. So I was interested in a
a Chi that captured my immediate love as much as
he did. The efforts to breed down at or below the
standard clearly are resulting in smaller
Chihuahuas. I do now have a new baby. I suspect
he may well top off at five or six pounds maximum.
Truly, he is quite wonderful, but he is his own
little man. He is a Rocky Balboa/Stallone to what
was a beautiful Richard Gere. Each has his own
spot in my life. But they are very very different
and I think in the back of my mind I do prefer the
larger more stately long hair Chihuahua. What has
captured me about Rocky (duly named that) is that
he has a definite "attitude problem" and is master
of his universe. I have to love his attitude.
