Not so. Bigger breeds take longer to reach their full size than smaller
breeds do. A bigger breed can continue growing as long as two years while
smaller breeds tend to reach their adult size around 10 to 12 months. a one
year old chi is pretty much grown...a one year old St. Bernard probably will
get quiet a bit bigger...

Sheila...my vet told me that all dogs grow up to the age of 2 years old,
and only at 2 years old can one say they have reached their full growth...can
anyone clarify this growth issue?...normajean

Yes,chihuahua's do grow that bit,I have a full grown
11 year old one that weighs 15 lbs.or more. She has
been big all her life, they are grown at 10 months or a
little later so he may be as big as he will get.
