new pup is just now old enough to start learning...it will simply take time and
patience. Anytime he can not be supervised, confine him. When he does go in the
wrong place, tell him no and take him to the right place. When he goes in the
right place (even if he actually misses the pad, at least he is trying) give
lots of praise. Make sure to clean any wrong places real good so the scent is
not there for the next time.

The older dog needs help establishing his dominance. IT is his birthright as
the older one, to be the alpha and he needs some leeway in putting the pup in
its place. They learn this in the pack and as long as the pup is not getting
hurt, older dog should be allowed to gently correct the pup. Also, make sure
you spend plenty of one on one time with the older dog so he does not feel he
is being pushed away. He may be refusing to eat as a way of getting your
attention. Give him that attention he needs so jealousy does not take over.

  Subject: [Chihuahuas] new puppy

I am a fairly new member and have never posted. I have a Chi that is 12wks.
old and I'm having a hard time getting him to use the pee pads. Sometimes he
will and other times it's hit or miss. Any good suggestions? I do put him
outside in the morning and he goes, but other times I put him out and then he
comes in and pees in the house. Help! I also have a 10yr. old Chi Rudy and he
does not like the new pup (Toby) at all.
He is not eating very well and the vet says med. fine. I looking for any
help with this. I hope this will get better soon.

  Cheryl
