be two or maybe three ;)

Precious and Tinkerbell each came into the system separately. TinkerBell was
turned into the Downey Shelter, with people saying they didn't have time for
her and she was destructive......

Precious was found on the streets in West LA with a badly injured back leg,
was fostered for a few months and had stitches etc. still when I got her. They
estimate she is about 2 1/2. She seems like she had a good home, is totally
house trained, knows how to walk on a leash and about riding in a car. Minds
very good (well til she found out about the cat across the way).

I brought them home and that was the first they were together, but have
bonded, Precious acts like a mother dog to Tinker, plays with her and is
protective of her. TinkerBell on the other hand at about ten months when I got
her, did not have a clue about what walks were. She was freaky, squeeky and
had bad separation anxiety (still does), no potty training that I could tell
etc.... Have worked hard to overcome her high strung freaky states, where she
will give blood curdling screams if you touch her wrong. Applied the Ceasar
Milan's (Dog Whisperer) "Dog Pack" theory to her and taught her to go out and
walk with Precious and I, and little by little she got the idea that she was
supposed do something there and we were a pack and I was the leader. Also,
patiently worked with her to get her over the screaming and nipping that was
just fear and anxiety. She now is well known in the neighborhood for being a
friendly little dog, in fact when she sees people she expects to be picked up
and is very good.

At first she threw up in the car when we went out, but learned to make sure
she didn't eat before or during the trip. Last few times she has been fine,
and likes to go and even jumped up into the car all by herself the other day.
I wanted her to be a good traveler. I took her to the Scot's Festival at the
Queen Mary and used a pet "Sling go" bag to carry her around in. She loved it,
and everyone, and was very good and is accepted in the Clan now. Hoped to get
her Tarten harness ready for next time. Since then if I put a bag on the bed,
she will get in it, so she can go too.

You say well how destructive can she be??? she is so little, welllllll, you
have to know I don't care in the least about it and would never give her
up.....but her separation anxiety brings her to new heights for a 4 1/2 pound
dog......Let me show you "Decor by TinkerBell" The rug, the blinds, the
screen were all her attempts to get to me..... : ).

Also have to tell you she is an escape artist, left her in the house with
access to a covered patio with four foot solid wall, no gate. She wanted to
follow me, so unnbelievably climbed a chair, then to a large urn with a tree in
it and literally climbed the tree and went over the wall. Last Sunday closed
the patio, but left the bedroom window open about 3 inches, that is when she
broke the screen threw and got out, neighbor rescued her and put her in the
patio.....right! She climbed right over the wall and was out again, another
neighbor took her home and called our cell number on the tag (we had not been
gone more than a half hour. That's why she wears a collar with full data on
it. She came to me with a micro chip, I had no choice.

We are working on her separation stuff, but she doesn't have to worry much
because am with her pretty much 24/7.

Hi Phylis. Tinkerbell and Precious are sooo cute! I can't believe they
both ended up in rescue. Who wouldn't want those two! Were they a bonded pair
before you adopted them?

I really like the tricks video with Precious doing all she can for that
treat, LOL! I love her roll over trick. I have taught one of my Australian
Shepherds tons of tricks but I haven't tried to teach Cricket, my Chi any yet.
She loves treats so it probably won't be hard to do. Thanks for sharing. You
are lucky to have such adorable dogs (and also lucky to live by the beach)!
